Senior Software Engineer, Java and React

About the role

With a minimum of four years of professional software-engineering or development experience, you will lead delivery of dependable Java services and React applications that solve real operational needs. Working with product, design, QA, DevOps, and delivery stakeholders, you will make sound architecture decisions, mentor teammates, and raise engineering standards while keeping solutions appropriate for XieTech's stage and Filipino market context.

What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable Java and Spring Boot services, React and TypeScript interfaces, and supporting data models
• Own API contracts, database design, integration patterns, and architectural decisions for complex features
• Build security, performance, observability, resilience, and testability into production solutions
• Review pull requests and improve coding, testing, documentation, and release standards across the team
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, design discussions, and actionable feedback
• Partner with product and delivery stakeholders to clarify scope, assess tradeoffs, and sequence technical work
• Investigate production risks and incidents, then guide durable fixes and preventive improvements

What you'll bring

• Minimum of 4 years of professional software-engineering or software-development experience
• Strong experience delivering production systems with Java and Spring Boot and with React, TypeScript, or related web technologies
• Demonstrated ability to design maintainable APIs, relational data models, and distributed integrations
• Practical knowledge of automated testing, application security, performance analysis, and observability
• Experience making architecture decisions with clear tradeoffs rather than unnecessary complexity
• Consistent record of thoughtful pull-request review and improvement of shared engineering practices
• Ability to mentor engineers while remaining hands-on in implementation and troubleshooting

Nice to have

• Broader full-stack experience with Next.js, PostgreSQL, messaging systems, or event-driven architecture
• Experience operating containerized workloads on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and incident-response practices
• Experience delivering technology for Philippine SMEs or other resource-conscious environments
